BACKCOUNTRY HORSEBACK PACK TRIPS

Royal Tine offers summer pack trips for both fly fisherman and sight seers. These can either be pack in trips where you stay at the same location for the duration or they can be progressive in nature. The progressive trips will be at a different camp most every day. Rides are usually from 2-5 hours in the saddle. We stop at both lakes and streams and enjoy some of Montana's finest scenery along the way. Whether you are into fishing, or just enjoying the scenic beauty of the back country from the back of one of our gentle horses, a Montana pack trip maybe just what you need to get away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city. The "layover days" provide a flexible framework for guests to enjoy diverse interests. You may decide to take a day ride, go hiking or fishing, or just relax in camp and enjoy the tranquility of the high country.

The fly fishing is simply fantastic. The streams and lakes of this region are chalk full of hungry Cutthroats, Brookies and Rainbows. The creek's deep pools and undercut banks provide the fish with good holding cover. It is just the right width for easy casting and there is little in the open meadows to interfere with the back cast. The fish will average 10-12 inches.

Accommodations on these trips include comfortable tents for guests and a large kitchen fly where delicious home style meals are cooked for your enjoyment. Care to learn a little about back country cooking? Just let us know, we would be happy to give you some tips on open fire cooking, Dutch oven cooking and more. We can also improve your horse skills and give you more than just entry level instruction on how to ride. These trips are tailor made for you, just let us know.
